One of the most common questions we get at OMORPHO is, “How do I care for my gear?” The quick answer is, it depends. If you have a G-Vest or G-Vest Sport, the cleaning regimen is very different from how you care for G-Wear tops, tights and shorts.

Caring for your G-Vest and G-Vest Sport

Most important, vests are NOT machine washable.

The OMORPHO G-Vest and G-Vest Sport are carefully constructed to incorporate hundreds of stainless steel ball bearings to add weight. This patented design has the ball bearings encased inside two layers of specially designed materials that can be damaged by machine washing.

Spot clean after light use.

We recommend using a gentle scrub brush or moistened towel with a small amount of soap to spot clean dirty areas of your vest. When done, thoroughly wipe your vest down to remove as much debris as possible, then hang it to dry.

Rinse after sweat build-up.

As needed, you can also rinse your vest in cold water for a deeper clean. We recommend doing this as minimally as possible to prevent premature wear and tear. Towel your vest as dry as possible before hanging it to dry.

Hang to dry.

Your vest should NOT be put in a machine dryer. We recommend hang drying. Placing your vest in front of a fan is a great way to speed the drying process, but do NOT put it near a heat source. Excessive heat may damage the materials of the vest.

Disinfect with MicroBan.

For Stubborn odors, we recommend using MicroBan. It is safe on materials of the vest and helps to prevent build up of bacteria. Buy it on Amazon.

Caring for your G-Wear Apparel

Go ahead, throw it in the washing machine.

You may be surprised about this, but we designed our workout gear to be easy to use and clean so you can workout hard and wear them on repeat. In addition to using only the best performance fabrics available, the weighted spheres in our G-Wear products are abrasion-resistant polymers that are fused to the fabric at a molecular level.. Fun fact: many athletic shoes use the same technology and materials on the exterior of shoes, which helps make them both durable and easy to wash with minimal to no scratching.

Turn garments inside-out during washing.

The dirtiest part of any workout garment is the surface that touches your body. Turning your OMORPHO gear inside-out makes it easier for it to get thoroughly washed and dried, and it also helps to keep the exterior of the garment protected.

Don't use fabric softeners or bleach.

Both types of products can damage the technical properties of the fabric and diminish its ability to be sweat-wicking and antibacterial. If you notice a stain, we recommend pre-treating it right away and then washing sooner than later (ideally less than a week later).

Use distilled water as a backup plan.

Sometimes, clothing retains odor even after using a washing machine and detergent. If you want or need a deeper clean, you can submerge your OMORPHO G-Wear for 20-30 minutes in one part white distilled vinegar and four parts cold water and rinse them in water after.

G-Wear is dryer safe.

G-Wear apparel tops and bottoms are designed for regular use and ease of care. The polymer weighted beads are fused to the fabric, which makes them durable and safe machine drying at regular temperatures. (Not suited for commercial dryers that exceed 60° C /140° F.) You can also safely hang dry your gear in sun or shade. After a good spin cycle in the washing machine, it will dry in no time at all.
